Woodpecker.co alternatives: seven cold email tools, what each bill counts and who each suits better

Last reviewed November 1, 2026

Quick answerPick Reply.io or lemlist for calls or SMS in one sequence, Mailshake when each client pays its own seats and Smartlead for high volume with client workspaces; Woodpecker stays the pick for a per-client panel.

Woodpecker.co alternatives at a glance

The seven Woodpecker.co alternatives are lemlist, Instantly, Smartlead, Mailshake, Reply.io, Saleshandy and Apollo, and each bills a different unit. Woodpecker itself is $39 a month billed monthly for 5,000 emails sent, or $26 a month billed annually, plus $27 a month for each active client, as read on November 1, 2026.

Four rivals count people as well as emails: Instantly's uploaded contacts are the people loaded into campaigns, Smartlead's contacts are the unique prospects stored, Reply.io's active contacts are the unique people emailed in a month, and Saleshandy's active prospects are the contacts kept in live sequences.

For LinkedIn, calls or SMS in one sequence: lemlist and Reply.io

For two sellers who want a LinkedIn step and call tasks in one sequence, Woodpecker has Multichannel: the Email tier plus $29 a month for each connected LinkedIn account. Two accounts on the 5,000-email tier are $97 a month billed monthly or $84 a month billed annually, and manual call tasks and team members carry no charge.

Multichannel on lemlist is $87 per user a month on its yearly toggle, with $109 struck through, and adds LinkedIn and SMS automation with 5 senders per user. Reply.io Multichannel puts email, LinkedIn, SMS and phones in one plan at $89 per user a month billed annually. Both bill each user, so the price follows the number of sellers.

Reply.io prices LinkedIn automation at $69 and calls and SMS at $29 per account a month. Its Email Volume card labels its price per user at 1,000 active contacts while its subtitle speaks of no limits on users or mailboxes, so no verdict here rests on that unit.

For client workspaces: Instantly and Smartlead

Instantly's agency page promises a separate workspace for every client, while its help center says each workspace requires its own subscription. Its Agency Portal, on Hypergrowth and Light Speed, shows every client with Campaigns access all campaigns in the workspace. Woodpecker vs Instantly sets out the numbers.

Smartlead sells client workspaces with white label at $29 a month for each client workspace, from Pro, and Unlimited Prime includes 3. Pro is $94 a month billed monthly for 90,000 sends. Smartlead vs Woodpecker prices three and five clients.

For client-owned accounts: Mailshake

Mailshake bills each user, and its pricing page recommends that a client create its own team, so the client is the billed party and adds the agency as a user. Starter is $29 per user a month billed monthly for 1,500 sends; Email Outreach is $49 per user a month billed monthly, with unlimited sends and Email Rotation. Mailshake says it collects payment up front and has no free trial.

Mailshake sells its Agency Plan through sales. Its help center describes combined billing with each client's data kept separate (article dated October 19, 2023).

For emails sent with a user cap: Saleshandy

Saleshandy caps users by plan: Starter allows 6,000 emails and one seat, Pro 100,000 emails and 10 users, and Scale 200,000 emails with no seat limit. Starter is $41 a month billed monthly or $34 a month billed annually; Pro is $99 a month billed monthly or $76 a month billed annually. The trial is 7 days, with sending capped at 100 emails.

Saleshandy's pricing table shows unlimited clients on every plan and separate teams on Scale only. Its pricing page lists white label under Enterprise and its help center lists it on Scale, so ask Saleshandy which applies.

For contact data first: Apollo, and when Woodpecker still fits

Apollo bills each seat, and its credits, pooled across the team, are spent on emails, phone numbers and data. Basic is $49 per seat a month billed annually and $65 per seat a month billed monthly, and Apollo has a free plan with 2 sequences. Its pricing text lists no client panel or workspace; it suits a seller who needs contacts as much as sending.

Woodpecker still fits an agency that wants a sub-account for each client and no charge for each seat: team members and email accounts are unlimited, and the client lines are $27 and $5 for each active client, with no annual discount on either. Before switching away, note that Woodpecker itself can be tried for 14 days or 500 cold emails without a card, although its billing help says LinkedIn accounts are not part of the trial.

Best cold email software and lemlist alternatives sort the wider field.
